Shannon Sanders

Stakeholder & Media Relations Director

Shannon Sanders has over 10 years of public relations experience within the pharmaceutical industry. She has had responsibilities for brand communications, patient advocacy, stakeholder engagement, issues management, external and internal communications, and social media engagement.

Prior to joining CCG, Shannon was a consultant to Novo Nordisk, providing guidance to the Biopharma business unit in the development and implementation of public relations and patient advocacy strategies. She helped to sustain strategic partnerships with patient advocacy groups, as well as identify and deliver opportunities to support and collaborate with patient groups in areas of mutual interest. Of note, she partnered with the National Hemophilia Foundation to create a once-in- a-lifetime opportunity for a group of children with hemophilia to meet the Crown Princess of Denmark, HRH Mary Elizabeth.

Prior to Novo Nordisk, Shannon served as Global Manager Public Relations and Advocacy for ViroPharma. She provided input into global media efforts and traveled both domestically and internationally to strengthen relationships with key healthcare professional and patient organizations. She represented ViroPharma at external advocacy meetings and conferences, helping to uncover touch-points to maximize the partnerships.

Shannon spent 6 years with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals where she identified and implemented public relations campaigns that brought the most value to the brand teams. Shannon has developed and implemented communications strategies for a variety of brands across various stages of the product lifecycle.

Shannon holds an MBA from Villanova University.
